Tents and Trees
Play Tents and Trees online. Place one tent beside each tree. Match the row and column totals while keeping tents apart, even diagonally.
The game's own interface may still be in English.
Overview
Tents and Trees hides a campsite among fixed tree squares. Each tree must be paired with one tent in an orthogonally adjacent cell, and every tent must belong to a tree. Tents may not touch one another, even diagonally. Numbers outside the board tell you how many tents belong in each row or column. A tent can be adjacent to more than one tree, so drawing the assignment mentally is not always immediate; what matters is whether a valid one-to-one pairing exists. The hosted Tents engine creates fresh campgrounds and supplies different board settings. The mixture of row totals, diagonal spacing and tree availability rewards careful elimination more than trial-and-error placement across the whole grid.
How to Play
Click an empty square to place a tent. Secondary input marks a square as grass, recording that no tent belongs there. On a phone, switch Secondary on while marking grass and off when placing tents. Use the outer counts to track row and column totals, and keep every tent next to a tree. All tents must remain separated at edges and corners. Continue until the campsite satisfies every count and can pair each tree with one tent. Undo and Restart let you revise an uncertain assignment.
Tips & Strategy
Mark every cell in a zero row or column as grass. An isolated tree with one legal neighbouring square forces a tent there; immediately exclude the eight surrounding cells as further tent positions. Be cautious when two trees compete for the same spaces: a tent that seems to serve either one cannot serve both. Compare remaining row counts with the cells still adjacent to an unpaired tree. Cells with no possible tree partner can be marked grass even when their row needs more tents. Near the end, inspect possible tree-to-tent assignments rather than only counting the visible tents.
